Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth largest in the US, after New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.One of the interesting sites here for those loving arts can be a private art gallery called Menil Collection which is the collection of oil magnate John Menil and his wife Dominique de Menil.Its impressive collection ranges from the paleolithic carvings dating back to 15000 BC right up to modern sculptures.It also has a fine collection of African art,including exquisite wood carvings from Mali and the fine collection of ivories from Berlin.Other interesting tourism spots are the Museum of Fine Arts,Contemporary Art Museum and the Houston Museum of Natural Science.The Cockrell Butterfly Center ,where a rain forest has been created and where butterflies of different colors and hues are in abundance ,is another place where you can marvel at Mother Nature's creativity.A culinary tour of Houston can be a mouth watering experience for there are cuisines of different countries.There are restaurants offering Continental and International foods.For those having an interest in Science ,the Johnson Space Center is a worth mentioning venue in Houston.Named after a former US President ,Lyndon Johnson ,it is a place where someone who has interest in astronomy and travel has much to see. The special feature of this place is a stone which has been brought by an Apollo spacecraft.The stone has been placed inside a glass case but with enough space for any one to insert his index finger abd touch the mini moon rock.Nasa controls space flights from the Johnson Space Center so it is more than just a museum.The first space craft to leave the site was the Gemini 4 and this was way back in 1965.

Italy is one country that seems to have a timeless appeal for every one;the wonder being the union of modern with the ancient.Arriving at the Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome one can take the Euro Rail to Florence.The local trains are a cheaper option ,but they can be quite overcrowded.The two hour journey is picturesque,punctuated with meadows,quaint houses,hills and small rivers.Florence has an overwhelming number of sights to offer its visitors.There are about 400 palaces,50 ancient churches and 70 museums in Florence alone.Nearby towns such as Pisa and Tuscany have equally famous sights.This certainly benefits a city of the Medici family doctors of Florence that spurred the European Renaissance-a journey that enthroned the European race in the modern world to date.
The heart of Florence lies on the north bank of River Arno.Piazza Del Duomo is the historic religious focus city dominated by the church popularly called 'DUOMO' which is the Cathedral of Santa Maria Del.The designer and engineer Brunelleschi gained fame because of his splendid architechtural marvel.The dome, which is 140 feet wide and 180 feet high, was completed in 1461.One has to get into a long queue to get inside the church.Battistero San Giovanni Baptistery lies opposite the Duomo with its three splendid,carved bronze doors.
Southwards towards River Arno, at a 10 minute walk from the dome,is the famous Uffizi Gallery near the Piazza Vecchio,It is a collection of priceless artists.The work of Michelangelo ,Raphael,Leonardo da Vinci and other great artists are on display.
South of the Uffizi is the River Arno-very popular with rowers ----spanned by a series of bridges that divide the city into two.Close to the rivers is the famous street full of jewellery shops,which sells breathtakingly beautiful pieces of jewellery.The Pizale of Michelangelo gives an over view of the the entire city .A giant ,Michelangelo's David stood in the centre of the piazza and the beautiful city of Florence could be seen from there.In short ,Florence is a pleasure in itself.

Science is for service to mankind. The branches of Science deal in different aspects of life. Basically, Science is divided into three branches namely Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Physics deals with physical properties of matter and laws of forces. Many sports are generally based on these studies and involve many of these laws. Those who have studied Physics must have studied about Angular Momentum. The sports of Gymnastic have some of these laws of Physics, concealed into its different varieties. The three forms of Gymnastics are Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline. The Artistic Gymnastic comprises of several routines like Vaults, Uneven bars, Pommel horse etc.The Gymnasts display acts of rotation from end to another. The Rhythmic Gymnastic also involves rotational motion. The third one, Trampoline is also based on bounce and rebound. All these three types apparently display artistic beauty but inside these arts, a basic knowledge of scientific laws is concealed. The sports of gymnastic have the beauty of art as well it encompasses the laws of Sciences. Gymnastics is in fact a competitive sport that tests an athlete's strength, rhythm, balance, flexibility. We see different gymnasts performing these gymnastic acts. The sports of Gymnasts are an art involving the basics of Sciences. There is some where Science involved in it. Those aware of Physics, the branch of Science, do know about the Angular momentum and its rotation. In many moves made by a gymnast, this Angular Momentum is involved such as the rotation of a gymnast. This Science is hidden in all routines of its three forms. The law of Angular Momentum is mainly involved in many of them. According to the definition of Angular momentum, it is equal to the product of mass, velocity and distance from mass to axis of rotation. When a gymnast leaves the mat, they have all the angular momentum from their push-off that they will get while leaving their position of rest. For different moves, the gymnast will need to change their rate of rotation while in the air. They change their rate of rotation by changing the distance of their center of mass from the axis of rotation. The angular speed increases or decreases by changing the distance between the mass and the axis of rotation. For example, when a gymnast performs on the uneven or parallel bars, she may start by doing a giant swing around the top bar to gain angular momentum. When she turns loose and tucks her mass in to decrease the distance between her body and the axis of spin, she starts spinning much faster. Her angular momentum is still constant because no external force occurs to create a change in her angular momentum. When gymnasts work on these hard routines, the laws of Physics are practiced in a hidden manner by them.Infact it is a display of these laws. When a gymnast jumps on a trampoline, the trampoline springs in the mat force the body of Gymnast to bounce. He/she gets a bounce and with the bounce, the gymnast gets the elevation to a maximum. Then the force of gravity pulls the body again back to its normal position. Then again the gymnast gets bounce. In this way, it is repeated .The same theory is repeated when a gymnast performs on bars whether parallel, horizontal or uneven. The weight of the body of gymnast forces the body back to its normal position. This is done in quick seconds and in this lapse of time a very important phenomenon "The gravitation force" is displayed, coated in fun and entertainment. Since the sports of gymnastic is not only to play but also teaches knowledge of great in depth in its varieties. In this way we say that the sports of Gymnastics is a combination of both Arts and Science .As it portrays the artistic beauty and scientific thoughts combined together to display one of the finest scenes of nature.
