Creating a Picture Perfect Homemakeover

With inflation reaching new heights, homemakers contemplating a home makeover are faced with the challenge of making a noticeable transformation within a tight budget. While most of us would love to start the process from scratch , a smarter and more innovative approach is the art of turning the old into new. This usually involves reusing old home and furniture items skilfully and giving them a new look with a clever makeover or some slight touching up.
So for those embarking on a home makeover project ,here are some tips to help steer you in the right direction.
Before remodeling an item ,determine its usefuless and weigh the cost of sprucing it up versus a brand new version of the same.
Resize. Some things are just not meant to last forever. For torn curtains that touch the floor, trim them to half their size to frame a quaint little windowpane in your den, instead of being a daily eyesore in your bedroom. If the tassels are coming off your curtain ,rip them off entirely to create a new look.
Reposition items around the house to give a different look. That mirror in the hallway doesnot have to be placed vertically forever. Slant it at an interesting wacky angle or put it in another room.
Change the accessories. If your settee has brown upholstery that looks dull ,you can replace it. Choose the fabric and color depending on where you wish to place it.
If your furniture looks old or shows signs of chipping, try applying a fresh coat of paint or a new polish .If bits and pieces of the furniture are coming off, chip it off altogether.
